Do Now 9/29

An editorial is an article that expresses an opinion. I have not used Wikipedia in my other classes extensively, I have had to look over some about the Renaissance. Most of my teachers prefer to have me not use Wikipedia. This is most likely because Wikipedia has been known for giving its readers the wrong information. This usually stems from the fact that anyone is allowed to edit Wikipedia articles, this allows them to put false information. After reading this article I believe that given time I will eventually start using Wikipedia again.

Web 2.0: Multimedia Blog Posting Sem 2_Pre

One of the classes that I am having as of right now is Biology, taught by Mr. Maniscalco. He was a teacher of Chemistry and Physics at Cliffside Park High School. He was also a Director of Medical Physics and Dosimetry for 30 years. He now teaches Chemistry, Anatomy & Physiology, Physics, Biology, Robotics, Engineering and Medical Terminology here at Woodridge High School for three years now.

When I first started this class I expected to learn about the Cycle of Life, and the Evolution of Earth. As of right now we are going over the basics of Biology and the organisms of life. His Grading Policy is that tests count as forty percent of our grade. Quizzes count as fifteen percent, projects are 25. Informal assignments, Homework, and Participation combined count as twenty.

An interesting aspect of the class that I enjoy is how he can easily elaborate on anything that I or anyone else has trouble with. Even if it is the most trivial of things.Though technology may not be used often, Mr. Maniscalco has an ipad hooked up to a projector which displays notes. In my opinion I believe that Mr. Maniscalco is a fair and honest teacher.

Gatorade smart bottle brings high-tech hydration to World Cup 2014

  • Gatorade decided that it was high time that they found a more modern way of keeping athletes hydrated.
  • Each of the Gatorade smart bottles hides a sensor-packed disc with WiFi connectivity in its lid.
  • The sensor keeps tabs on how much each player drinks, and the NIC transmits the data it collects to the cloud.
  • When someone’s not drinking enough, a water droplet icon goes red.
  • After a practice or game ,the team can take a look at a player’s performance and hydration habits over time
  •  All a player has to do is snap it into his bottle’s base, give it a shake to mix with the water in the bottle, and remember to drink.
